I don't hide this in my tests, I often get very little thrilled with the actual throughput of the Powerline adapters I try. So I thought to myself, why not try testing a product that advertises a very high volume? To do this, I got the TP-Link PA9025P, Powerline adapters announcing nothing less than 2 Gbits / s!

A little reminder for those at the back of the class, the CPL technology (Power Line Carrier), allows data to be transmitted on the interior power line of your house or apartment. Basically, the electrical wires in your home become the ethernet cables in your network. Generally, brands market CPLs in sets of 2 modules, and it is then possible, if desired, to purchase the modules individually. If they are sold in pairs, it is quite simply that you need, at least, two modules, a single module is useless. Indeed, to use this type of product, one of the modules must be connected to your box or your router, and the other must be placed where you want to take advantage of the network, the two modules then communicate between them via your electrical installation.

It is therefore a simple way to be able to extend your network in certain areas of your home, where the WiFi is not carrying and if you do not want to start pulling ethernet cables, which moreover, less in less people do I feel.Let's start as we are used to, with a quick tour outside. The first thing that caught my attention when I opened the box is the size of the PLC modules, we can't really say that TP-Link tried to do something thin ... the devices are really very thick compared to competition or even vis-à-vis other CPL of the brand. Knowing a little TP-Link, I tell myself that this is to be, not a choice (who would seek to make a product more bulky than the others?) But rather a constraint.

The modules, which are identical, offer, like many others, a female socket on the front panel, which does not block the electrical outlet to which they will be connected. This is particularly practical in my opinion. Still on the front of the modules, 3 status LEDs inform you if the product is on, if the modules are paired, and if they have access to the network. Again that very common.

First thing that changes a bit, on the lower edge of the modules, two RJ45 ports are present where we are used to finding only one on 95% of other CPL kits. These two ports are in 1Gbit / s format.

And finally, on the right edge, we have the pairing button.

This time, I will go over the installation, you have to start to understand how it works, we plug the two modules, one near the box, the other where you want. Then we connect the first module to the box using an RJ45 cable, and on the other side, that is to say on the other module, we connect what we want. And in the case of TL-PA9025P, we have the right to two sockets, so we can connect a PC and a printer, two PCs, a WiFi terminal and a network switch, in short, you have the choice. Then we match the two modules, moreover, it is better to do it before connecting anything to the second module, and it's over.
